Be skeptical if someone tells you they have seasoned firewood, for we have spoken with most all the big suppliers in Northern Michigan, and this simply is NOT true.

If someone says they have “Seasoned Oak”, then for certain be ware. There is only TWO ways to season oak.

First way, it must be cut (and split) into burning lengths, then stacked semi loose, and allowed to have the wind blow through, during warmer months (minimum 3 months) and the sun shine on.

Second way is to put it in a Dry Kiln. This is cost prohibitive; therefore it is NOT done.

Only 2 main suppliers have some left, and it is spoken for – at double normal rate. Everyone else is out; less maybe some Logs piles from last spring, and this would NOT be considered Seasoned Oak.

We can help you to solve this problem, and it not cost you any more money. We would also like to help you ensure this is not an issue for you in the years to come.
